Match Day Officials v Barnsley

Match Day Officials v Barnsley

The Football League have now announced the Match Day officials that will take charge of the game against Barnsley this weekend.

Colchester host Barnsley on Saturday December 12 for the game at the Colchester Community Stadium and the match carries a 3pm kick off.

Referee: Stephen Martin
Linesmen: Paul Kelly and Paul Howard
Fourth Official: Michael Webb

Match Day referee Martin (Staffordshire) has officiated one Colchester match this season - the five nil loss to Wigan on October 17. Not a single card was shown in that game.

He has however already taken in seventeen other matches so far in 2015-16 and in those games, across all competitions and Football divisions, he has handed out a total of 47 yellow cards and three red cards.

He was most card happy in the match between Peterborough United and Bury on September 29 with a total of five yellows being shown and one red. He also showed six yellows during the game between Plymouth and Portsmouth back in August.

Let`s hope it`s not another repeat and more of our players edge closer to automatic bans.
