Reading after Colchester's Halford?

It is being reported that Reading manager Steve Coppell is interested in joining the race to sign the want away Greg Halford

Coppell is thought to have been impressed by the player's consistent form in the Championship, and he is keen to provide competition for skipper Graeme Murty at right-back.

However Coppell joins West Ham, Portsmouth and Sheffield United who have all reportedly shown interest in Colchester's England under 21 Star.

Colchester manager Geriant Williams recentley stated that the club are not looking to sell anyone once the January transfer window opens, however with bids in the region of 2m+ being rumored waiting to be tabled, the temptation may be too much to refuse.
