Colchester's King Goes Out on Loan

Manager Geraint Williams has loaned youngster Robbie King to non-league side Heybridge Swifts for a month's.

King's first-team opportunities at Layer Road have been limited by the Us' impressive Championship form.

A club spokesman said: 'Robbie will be at Scraley Road until the end of January and will be hoping to be involved in all four of the Swifts' Ryman League Premier Division matches due to be played before his month finishes.

'First-team outings have been rare for him here at the Us, with only two LDV Vans starts and three appearances from the bench in League One matches over the past 18 months.

'Hopefully, Robbie will be thrown straight into Brian Statham's squad for the home game against Ramsgate on Saturday.'
