'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Colchester 1 - 1 Leicester

Colchester's winning run at home in the Championship came to an end today as Leicester City left Essex with a share of the points.

Iwelumo and Cureton both came close to scoring early on before the Foxes deservedly took the lead in the first half through top scorer Hume.

Colchester leveled the scores shortly after the interval when Iwelumo was adjudged to have been fouled in the box, the 6ft 4in striker picked himself up to put the penalty away.

In complete contrast to the first half, Colchester played the Football that the fans have come to expect at home in the second period of the game.

West Ham loanee Hogan Ephraim replaced Cureton and soon had the ball in the back of the neck, however the goal was disallowed for a foul on the edge of the box.

Although both teams tried to play football, the whole encounter was spoilt by a referee completely out of his depth taking charge of a championship game which was too much for him.
