Dickenson In Team Of The New Year (4/1/17)

Dickenson In Team Of The New Year (4/1/17)

Colchester United are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week's action.

The performance by Brennan Dickenson in the two nil victory over Cheltenham Town on Monday at the Colchester Community Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we'll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Dickenson was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice - the FL blurb read.

'Dickenson took his season tally to seven with a goal in each of Colchester`s New Year triumphs. The winger opened the scoring in the 4-2 success against Stevenage, and capped off a 2-0 win over Cheltenham Town with a late strike.'

It's always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Dickenson for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the three points.

Full Team:

Jak Alnwick (Port Vale), Amari'i Bell (Fleetwood Town), Chey Dunkley (Oxford United), Christian Burgess (Portsmouth), Kieron Freeman (Sheffield United), Brennan Dickenson (Colchester United), Oliver Rathbone (Rochdale), Pawel Wszolek (Queens Park Rangers), Nelson Oliveira (Norwich City), Josh Magennis (Charlton Athletic), Ollie Watkins (Exeter City).

Manager - Gareth Ainsworth (Wycombe Wanderers).
