Porter In Team Of The Week (28/3/17)

Porter In Team Of The Week (28/3/17)

Colchester United are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week's action.

The performance by Chris Porter in the two one victory over Luton Town at the weekend at the Colchester Community Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we'll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Porter was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice - the FL blurb read.

'Colchester stayed in touch with the top seven thanks to Porter's brace against fellow Play-Off hopefuls Luton Town. The forward opened the scoring with a fine header, and his close-range finish just after the half-hour mark proved decisive in the 2-1 win.'

It's always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Porter for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.

Full Team:

Dean Lyness (Blackpool), Richard Duffy (Notts County), Sonny Bradley (Plymouth Argyle), Mark Beevers (Bolton Wanderers), Matt Dolan (Yeovil Town), Callum Camps (Rochdale), Josh Payne (Crawley Town), George Cooper (Crewe Alexandra), Ivan Toney (Scunthorpe United), John Akinde (Barnet), Chris Porter).

Manager - Luke Williams (Swindon Town).
