Colchester 1 - 2 WBA

Colchester suffered their first loss in 15 games at home tonight at the hands of West Brom. Indeed the U`s had not tasted defeat at Layer Road since August until tonight.

After a goaless first half, West Brom took the lead through McShane, with Kamara adding a second just a minute later.

Colchester rallied and Jackson scored after an assist from Wayne Brown. Colchester were denied an equaliser by some bizarre off side decisions from the Linesman, indeed a clear cut equaliser was ruled out by the same man and for a reason he only knows.

WBA were the best side that I had seen at Layer Road so far this year, on balance of play a draw would have been a fair result for all concerned, however this was not to be and West Brom travel back to the Midlands with all the points.
