Colchester United scooped a gong for Best Matchday Program at this year's Football League Awards last Sunday, in front of over 900 guests at the Grosvenor House on London`s Park Lane.
The aim of the Awards was to recognise excellence both on and off the pitch, where Colchester`s reputable programme was voted the League's best in 2007. Among 19 different awards were Goal of the Year and player of the Year.
Colchester`s award, for the kick-off supplement U`s Review, comes as a great credit to both the club, and media manager Matt Hudson, who works extremely hard to produce a high-quality publication. As such, the U`s programme is famed for its regular features, and willingness to involve supporters in the publication.
A recent example of exclusive news within U`s Review included an in-depth explanation behind the omission of Scottish striker, Chris Iwelumo, allowing Colchester fans a glimpse at the politics of his mysterious absence from Alex McLeish`s first A and B squads.
Vital Colchester are proud of the links that the club has forged with the club`s accommodating media department, and this site has long been the home of CarbonDioxide`s enlightening and entertaining column, also appearing in U`s Review.
Colchester`s award was sponsored by PA Sport, which is a sport reporting company based in over 200 counters.
Highlights of the Awards will be screened on Sky Sports One on Thursday 8th March, and were presented by Jeff Stelling.
