Karl and Kevin ready for recalls

Colchester United announced this week that winger Kevin McLeod could be ready for a surprise return to the first XI after making an unexpectedly fast recovery from recent surgery.

The U`s winger, who only underwent a grain operation within the last fourteen days, could be involved against Norwich at the weekend, following treatment during the fixture reprieve during the recent international break.

McLeod, 26, was not expected to be back by mid-April at the earliest, but his recovery, and subsequent contention for a start, has been hailed "a success" by the club`s physiotherapist, Tony Flynn.

The winger himself told the media: "They think there`s a chance I might be back by the weekend.

"It`s a little bit sore and a bit bruised but I`m hoping to be back as soon as possible."

Skipper Karl Duguid also resumed training following his recent knee injury.
