'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Barker Wants To Stay

Colchester`s on-loan left full-back Chris Barker, who skipper Karl Duguid has suggested should be Player of the Year, wants to make his move to Col U permanent.

Barker, who replaced George Elukobi as left earlier in the season, has been quietly efficient.

On a possible move, he has said: 'I would be happy to stay if an offer is there - the club have been fantastic for me, the fans and the players are great and I have really enjoyed it.'

He told last Thursday`s Evening Gazette: 'I came to Colchester to play football and that is what I have done so we will see what happens in the summer.'
