'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Doogie's Review...

Best Opposing Team...

"Over two games, West Brom were without doubt the best team that we played."

Best Opposition Player…

"There have been a few. Stoke 'keeper Steve Simmonsen; Giles Barnes played well when we lost to Derby. Richardo Fuller [Stoke] was good in the game last week and Carlos Edwards back at Kenilworth Road."

Best Ground Visited…

"Leicester was a nice ground with a good set-up and of course you know that the Stadium of Light at Sunderland is going to be a Premiership class stadium. For me, though, Southampton`s St. Mary`s Stadium was the best ground we`ve visited this season. It was a quality ground but the fact that we got a win seemed to make it a whole lot better!

"Despite all the good stadium`s the best pitch in the division is ours!"

Best Opposing Fans…

"I`d have to five the nod to Sunderland and their fans. They have huge crowds at home and follow them in huge numbers away, and I thought in the games we played against them, made plenty of noise."

Best U`s performance…

"There have been a few, particularly at home and we`ve scored loads o goals in front of our own supporters.

"At home, I`d say Sheffield Wednesday [4-0 win] was a great display, but Hull [5-1 win] was probably our best performance of the season. We went behind in that game bust showed some real spirit and quality the three points and a thumping victory.

"To go with that result, I would say that Southampton away [2-1 win] was our best display."

Best U`s goal…

"Greg Halford`s against Sheffield Wednesday was a fierce shot [from about 35 yards] and got shortlisted for the Football League Goal of the Year award, whist [Jamie] Curo has scored some great goals, including his second against Southend.

"The best one for me though is one the manager also likes. Chris Iwelumo`s second against Luton Town. A great pass from Kevin Watson to cut out three players, Jamie sent over a brilliant cross and Big Chris powered home a sensational header. A great team goal."

Worst U`s performance…

"Derby or Leeds [away, 5-1 and 3-0 losses respectively.] In the Derby game, we were beaten because got going and found ourselves 3-0 down early doors. I think, in some ways, it was worse because it was on telly and with plenty of people watching on a Friday night."

Season Highlight…

"I think we have done exceptionally well in the derby games this season, particularly in against Southend away and Ipswich at home [1-0 win]. But it`s hard to pick out one highlight. The whole season ahs been a massive high.

Best Trainer…

"Kem Izzet is always a very good trainer, as is Hogan Ephraim and he is great to watch. We played five-a-side last week and it was Hogan verses the rest really!

Mark Cousins loves training and George Elukobi also works hard - he trains as he plays; kicks everything and anything that moves!

Worst Trainer…

Probably Matt Mills during his time here. From what I can remember, he tried to play offside in five-a-side and it never quite worked!

Worst outfit worn to training…

Greg Halford`s left now, but he still comes to games with the worst gear on. He`s earning good money but his clothes are still shocking really!

Of the lads still here, Pat Baldwin has the worst gear going and we think he goes and shops in Dorothy Perkins!

Biggest moaner…

Jamie Cureton, no question. His toys come out of his pram at least tree or four times a week; and in a season when he`s been doing well, as well!

Player who takes longest to get ready before a game…

Kevin Watson takes forever. No matter what it is, he always seems to take an age doing it.
