Cureton Scoops April Award

After being overlooked by his fellow professionals in the PFA Team of the Year voting recently, the season`s Coca-Cola Championship Golden Boot winner Jamie Cureton was voted April`s Player of the Month.

The Colchester United forward, in terrific form over the past month netted the award after scoring six goals in the last five league games of the season.

Sky Sports News pundit and chairman of the award panel Chris Kamara said: "Jamie Cureton has enjoyed a phenomenal season at Colchester.

"To finish as the Championship`s top scorer is a fantastic achievement considering the number of big front men he was up against."
