Jacko`s Coming Back!

The announcement that Colchester United`s attacking midfielder Johnnie Jackson will recover from the turned ankle injury he suffered during the 3-1 win at home over Sunderland is a great boost for the club.

While there were fears that he would struggle to make pre-season training, it was confirmed yesterday that he is finally finding fitness again and should soon be back on the treadmill.

The club`s Physio, Tiny Flynn, said yesterday that he expects Jackson should be back for pre-season with the rest of the squad.

"Jacko is now running pain free in straight lines and will be given a rehab programme at the weekend for his holiday before returning in a couple of weeks," Flynn told the local media.

"Had Jacko's injury occurred earlier in the season, we would have expected him to be out for six to eight weeks so he should have no trouble starting his summer programme near enough on schedule with the rest of the squad."
