Iwelumo Joins Addicks

Colchester's 6ft 4in Scottish striker Chris Iwelumo today left the club to team up with ex U's Boss Phil Parkinson, signing for Charlton Athletic.

After extended contract negotiations broke down, 18 goal Iwelumo opted for a move to newly relegated Charlton.

Colchester Manager Geriant Williams said to the clubs official website,'We are very disappointed to lose Chris'

Adding,'Over the past couple of Years he has done a great job for us and we will miss him'.

Vital Colchester wish to thank Chris for 2 great season's with Colchester United and being an integral part of last years promotion winning history making squad, and wish him and his family the very best of luck.
