Talks on Hold as Garcia Flys Home

Colchester Manager Geriant williams has been forced to shelve contract talks with winger Richard Garcia who earlier flew to Australia to be with his ill father.

Former Hammers youngster Garcia who is out of contract in the summer is yet to sign a new contract and manager Geraint Williams is hopeful he will stay on at Layer Road having already lost striker Chris Iwelumo to Charlton on a free transfer.

'Unfortunately Richard had a bit of bad news about his father and got straight on a plane at the end of the season,' Williams told the club's official website.

'We're in touch with him but his thoughts are obviously with his father at the moment. We'll be here as and when he wants to talk but we'd like to keep him.'

Not sure how he do in another side. His peak is still way off and he's a good lad.
