Magic Medi Joins Elite

Colchester United’s young forward prospect Medi Elito has won a professional contract with the Essex side after reportedly snubbing an offer from Manchester United, according to the club’s official website.

Now 17, Elito put pen to paper on a deal after convincing the U’s catching staff that he has enough talent to prosper professionally. Although his preferred position is striker, Medi has been deployed on the wing by youth team boss Joe Dunne.

Medi, who was on standby for the Under 17 England European Championship squad in Belgium this summer, is the fourth U’s youngster to have signed for the club full time since the end of the season.
