'If It's Football, It's Vital'

He's Mr Nice Guy!

Colchester United manager Geraint Williams has quashed rumours that 19-year-old forward Jamie Guy will be leaving the club.

In the local press, Geraint said: "There is no problem from our point of view and I have told Jamie to go and get himself as fit as he can because he is part of my plans for next season.'

'There are things that go on inside a football club and there are players that come to the manager to talk about their position.

'One of our strikers who played every game for us last season has just left so there is an opportunity there for Jamie. We want players who are hungry to get into the first team.'

The comments come after Guy explained recently how much he is looking forward to filling the void left by now departed striker Chris Iwelumo.

He was supposed to have "put in a transfter request" but I'm not so sure he did. Media rubbish, I presume!
