Yet Another Target Gets Away?

It is reported in today's media that Summer target, midfielder Luke Gutteridge has shunned Colchester to join Championship rivals Coventry City.

After reports that the former Southend and Leyton Orient midfielder was in talks with Colchester boss Geriant Williams, it seems he may have chosen to ply his trade in the Midlands instead of North Essex.

With the Colchester squad thread bear and pre-season only a matter of a few weeks away, the loss of another potential target together with the lose of striker Chris Iwelumo, on loan defender Chris Barker and with Richard Garcia out of contract, it seems that Geriant Williams has his work cut out shaping a squad that will compete in the Championship next season.

We've gotta aim for survival and then establishing ourselves at the new ground. I don't know that Gutteridge is all that tbh.

I agree but as a squad player he may have become very handy, am sure though that Geriant will sort it out.
