Poll: Owusu Should Replace Iwelumo

A Vital Football Colchester poll asking U`s fans which player, of those suggested in the media as realistic targets, should replace Chris Iwelumo has found that newly-released former Brentford player Lloyd Owusu looks most likely.

The list included Former U`s man Scott Vernon, recently promoted to the Championship and Crystal Palace target Teddy Sheringham.

Here are the results, with the candidates chosen by numbers of the Vital Football forum.

John Okkas, (Olympiakos) 13%
Scott Vernon, (Blackpoll) 15%
Leon Constantine (Port Vale) 11%
Clive Platt (Mk Dons) 15%
Teddy Sheringham (West Ham, released) 11%
Lloyd Owusu (Brentford, released) 35%

30-year-old Owusu, a 6foot 2inch Ghanaian international, yesterday reported as a target for Yeovil, was the clear winner.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA THATS MADE MY DAY!!! FROM ALL THE POSSIBILITIES YOU LOT CHOSE LLOYD OWUSU??? HA HA HA HA HA HA!!! TAKE IT FROM A SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY FAN WHO KNOWS WHAT HE IS CAPABLE OF (THATS NOT MUCH), HE IS NEVER A CHAMPIONSHIP PLAYER! GOOD LUCK! YOU'LL NEED IT WITH HIM UP FRONT!!!
FUTURES BLUE N WHITE
Perhaps he is not a Championship player. Yer, he is quite fast and has a fairly good goal record lower down the prymid with Brentford, which is not too far from here. He's our price (free), too. Perhaps, futures Blue N White, you should read what was writen on the page. The list was taken out of relistic transfer targets, not a dream signing.

well i gathered that!! and his goalscoring record isn't that good!! he did nothing for us in league 1 or division 1 (as it was then)!! now leon constantine has got a good goalscoring record or maybe you'd like to take david graham off our hands!!! i'll drive him down myself!!
FUTURES BLUE N WHITE
Well we need some stikers and U's fans don't want panic buying. Prhaps our new youth man, Medi Elito (who rejected a youth contract from Manchester United) can do the job. Constontine is a good shout; he's also free and younger than Owusu.
