Jamie Guy: Pleads 'Guilty'

Colchester United forward Jamie Guy appeared in court on Thursday and was fined £550 following a disturbance in Britain`s oldest recorded town in May.

The 19-year-old pleaded guilty at Colchester Magistrates Court over his role in the incident on Friday May 25.

The club have issued a statement, which read: 'It is of course disappointing when anyone associated with the club finds themselves in this position.

'Manager Geraint Williams has since spoken to Jamie and we will be dealing with the matter internally.

'Jamie will now continue his preparations to be ready for pre-season training and the start of the new campaign with Colchester United.'

Guy, who scored three times last season, is expected to be heavily involved with the first team next season following the departure of Chris Iwelumo to Charlton and Jamie Cureton`s recent transfer request.
