Colchester's Cureton sold to Norwich

Jamie Cureton has left Colchester United to return to the club where he started his career, Norwich City.

31 year old Player of the season and Championship Golden Boot winner Cureton requested a move from Layer Road earlier on in June and has followed Chris Barker and Coach Mick Harford out of the Layer Road exit door, and with Australian Richard Garcia also looking set to follow, June has been an awful month for the club and fans alike.

Cureton told the Norwich official site "I'm delighted with the move. There's been a lot of speculation and other clubs have been interested but I always wanted to come back to Norwich."

On the outside a great piece of business by Colchester as Cureton came from Swindon on a free transfer, however the reported fee of £800,000 for a 31 year old striker on a 3 year contract may come back to bite Peter Grant right on his backside, and there are plenty of U`s fans who would like to see that after feeling let down by Cureton who was given the chance to play Championship football when he could have been languishing in the depths of League 2.

Here's looking forward to July and seeing the opposite door open!
