U's In For Perry Signature

Colchester United are reported to be one of three sides to have offered former Wimbledon, Charlton and Tottenham defender Chris Perry a one-year contract after he neglected to stay with previous employers, West Bromwich Albian, following a dispute their manager.

Cardiff City and Luton Town are said to have joined the running, with Vital Cardiff claiming that the player, 34, would prefer to stay as close to the capital as possible.

It is thought that the current free agent would provide cover and bring some much-needed experience to complement the first-choice centre back pairing of Wayne Brown and Pat Baldwin.
