Cup Hero of '71 Passes Away

Former Colchester player and a hero of the Giant Killing team of 1971 Dave Simmons has passed away.

Simmons scored one of the goals in the famed cup win against Don Revies Leeds United in February 1971.

Simmons had been battling Cancer for sometime and we here at Vital Colchester would like to send our condolences to his family at what is a very sad time.

I would like to say as a fan of the club, 'Thanks for the Memories'.
