Robson: Full Credit To Colchester
Sheffield United manager Bryan Robson praised Colchester United after the East Anglian outfit put an early damper on their hopes of an immediate return to the Premier League.
The Blades’ boss was not too critical of his of his side after they twice surrendered the lead to allow Colchester to secure a 2-2 draw on the opening weekend of the 2007/8 season.
He is quoted in the EADT as saying: “Full credit to Colchester. They kept going to make it difficult for us. Teddy (Sheringham) is a clever player and he still has great ability. I always feel that you’ll get shock results in the early part of the season.”
The newspaper went on to report that it was the only the second on an opening day of the season that Colchester had drawn a game during the last 18 years.
