Davison & Guy Boost For U's

Colchester United's player-goalie Aidan and foward Jamie Guy have both receieved fitness boosts ahead of Saturday's away trip to Preston.

Although Guy will not expect to play, his thigh injury is on the mend, while Davison, who completed half a game for the second string on Tuesday, looks ready to step between the sticks.

Davison is set to replace the suspended Dean Gerken in goal, and told the Evening Gazette this week that he is looking foward to playing his first game of the year. Aidan, who is due to retire at the end of the current season, has not played since Gerken's rise to form at the end of 2006.

Aidan looked fairly comfortable during his 45 mins for the reserves, and certainly didn't pull out of going for any balls and didn't look like he was carrying any injury.
