Guy In London Road Return

Colchester`s Jamie Guy yesterday made his return from injury in the 3-3 reserve outing away to Peterborough at London Road.

The young striker, 20, has been struggling with a hamstring injury since the summer, but proved his fitness as he came through 75 minutes of the game.

He may be in line for a swift recall to the first-team squad, who face Leicester on Saturday, following Teddy Sheringham`s three match ban after violent conduct.

Guy, who came through the ranks at Layer Road, made over 30 substitute appearances last season, hitting the net three times.

The hustle-and-bustle style striker has previously had a work experience loan deal at Conference side Cambridge United, a few seasons back.

Kevin McLeod, returning to full match fitness following an Achilles problem, Tom Webb and Fabian Quintyn were on target for the U`s.

Veteran midfielder Kevin Watson, continuing his rehabilitation from injury, as well as defenders John White and Adam Virgo, were other first-teamers that featured. The 3-3 draw was the second string's fifth draw in five games this season.
