Granville Aims To Keep Shirt
Colchester United wing-back Danny Granville has told the club`s website that he hopes to remain in the starting XI on Saturday as his team look to banish the painful memories of recent defeats against Ipswich and Coventry.
Granville, 32, faces competition from U`s winger Kevin McLeod for his shirt, because the Scouser netted in Monday's reserve game against Peterborough United.
"I just feel really good at the moment," said Granville, whose selection on the left-hand side may come as a surprise to fans of Chelsea and Leeds. He is best known as a full-back.
The U's number two told the website: "I'm just happy to be there. When I first started out, I was a midfielder but I worked my way back.
"I've played left wingback throughout my career, and with experience you can pick things up position-wise," he said.
Reflecting upon the week`s events, he labelled that awful defeat to rivals Ipswich 'one of the most sickening' of his long career.
Granville added: "We`ve got to sure-up as a team defensively."
