U`s Man Vows to Make Amends

Colchester United`s veteran front-man Teddy Sheringham has vowed to make amends for his recent red card by hoisting the Layer Road side up the Championship table.

Sheringham, 41, will return to the U`s fold against Crystal Palace tomorrow, after missing the last three games. His red card at Coventry earlier in the season earned him a three-match ban.

Sheringham, a former Champions League winner, appeared to elbow Coventry`s Michael Doyle and was dismissed for violent conduct in the U`s 1-0 defeat last month.

But Sheringham told The Evening Gazette, "It was a silly couple of seconds up at Coventry.

"I want to put the record straight and help Colchester do something this season."

Hope he gets back in the goals. He hasn't scored since August...

Scapy goal wasn't it? But he does make an impact, and is a class act!
Matt_Us
Yeah, and he scored that top corner pen at Preston...
StevieG Col U
Oh yeah! He will take Pens as Yeates won't be allowed!
Matt_Us
But if Teddy on bench, than who will?
StevieG Col U
You, maybe? I don't know!
Matt_Us
I can put the odd one in the top corner, I would think Yeatesy would want to have another go though....
