Colchester stormed into an early 2 - 0 lead, only to allow Watford back into the game, eventually going down 2-3 at Layer Road.
Clive Platt opened the scoring on 7 mins with on loan defender Matt Connolly adding a second some time later.
Watford came back into the game after Virgo had slipped allowing King to unleash a powerful shot into the far corner of Gerkens net on 40 mins, and with team mate O'Toole heading home 2 mins later, Colchester watched their lead disappear just before half time.
Taking nothing away from our visitors the home crowd were wondering whether referee Kettle who officially hails from Berkshire, was an unofficial Hornets fan, as he did everything within his power to ensure that all decisions went the way of the visitors, even if it was blatantly obvious that it should have gone to the home side. 8 Yellow cards in a game played in the right way by two footballing sides, where a bad tackle was not witnessed in 90 mins. I will go as far to call Mr Kettle a CHEAT, he was blatantly cheating, his reason to me unknown, I am sorry to rant about this poor excuse for a referee but needed to let of steam!
It's not very often you hear the home crowd chant 'We want a ref' when their side is 2-0 up against the league leaders, but Mr Kettle managed it tonight!
Indeed I have no complaints about any of Watford's goal, they were all taken well against a defence that leaks more than the preverbal sieve.
After watford had drawn level in the first period Tamas Priskin completed the comeback scoring the winner after Colchester failed to clear away the danger.
In my opinion a draw would have been a fair result, however Watford are where they are for a reason, and putting the debacle of a Referee to one side their quality and particularly Marlon King edged it on the night!
