U's Ready For 'Immense' Kinsella

Colchester United`s quest to appoint Charlton coach Mark Kinsella as their new number two would be popular with fans and ex-pros alike it seems after Tony English gave it his backing in today`s press.

English, who donned the U`s stripes for almost a decade at Layer Road, played alongside Kinsella and said: "It would be immense and unbelievable if Mark was appointed.

"I think anyone like Mark who has come through the ranks and achieved so much in his playing career would command a mega amount of respect."

English added his backing and did little to play down the speculation surrounding the possible appointment by saying: "He already knows Geraint Williams and he always said he was keen to get into management."

Kinsella was named in the Colchester United hall of fame last season.
