Davison: No Flake-Out On 99

Colchester United`s veteran goalie Aidan Davison is on track to reach 100 appearances before he retires after admitting success in a recent battle with injury.

The 39-year-old net-minder is on the road to recovery after undergoing surgery on for a mussel tare and anticipates being ready for selection within weeks.

"The surgeon found that there was a tear in the muscle and a slight issue with a piece of bone in the joint," he told the club's website in the wake of an operation on Friday.

"I am optimistic that the problem is sorted out and as soon as I am given the green light, I will be back on the field," added Davison, whose position as player-coach and completion for regular stopper Dean Gerken is vital for the U`s.

"There's no exact time frame we are working to but I am hoping to be back in action in a few weeks,' added Davison, who set to hang up his gloves in May.

Yes; any bets that he'll stay on for another year? Perhaps if the U's stay up, he might!

Can't see him changing his mind again, his wife has been nagging at him to quit for the last couple of seasons because she wants to move to Canada.

I just think he will...!!
