Williams: Plan-B If Fox Not Caught

Colchester manager Geraint has insisted that more signings could be on the way to the club - even if Daniel Fox fails to sign for the club, opting for Leeds or Wolves instead.

But the highly-rated youngster, who is out of contract with Walsall at the end of the season, is only one of a number of U`s targets. Williams told the Evening Gazette: "We still have some more bids out there that we're waiting for some feedback on."

Colchester have already signed Chris Coyne and Paul Ifil this month, as well reportedly having had a £350,000 bid accepted for former Everton trainee Fox.

If he does agree to sign, the U`s transfer spending will edge over the £1 million mark in a little over two weeks, with the possibility of the club having smashed their record payment for any player three times during that period.

Walsall still refuse to be drawn on whether or not Wolves have made a formal bid for Fox, but the player himself has defiantly been in contact with Colchester over personal terms.

"Daniel has been down to see us," said boss Williams. He added: "We've shown him around the new stadium and the plans we have and we've spoken to his representatives."

Fox did not feature for his side at the weekend, and is unlikely to feature in the Walsall XI until his transfer saga is resolved.

Wonder who are subject of the other bids, if we do land Fox will be quite a coup considering that Leeds and Wolves are also after him.

I think he won't come, he nust be holding out for something else as it's been over a week now since the offer was put on the table!!
Matt_Us
Well Coventry was his something else.

Yup!! These other bids the club have will be people no-one predicts, so perhaps there's no point guessing! Won't be Danns (he's off to Crystal Palace or Cov) and Halford is probably gonna stay with Sunderland.
