'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Life Heads Up For Coyne

Colchester United`s Chris Coyne has lavished praise on the club following his recent arrival.

The Australian joined from Luton Town, but has explained his decision to leave the club where he was skipper in favour of a new challenge.

He has exclusively told myfootballwriter.com : "It was a strange situation, but it also got to the point where I wasn't enjoying League One football. Coming back to the Championship was something I saw as a challenge.

"Now I feel positive about the future, otherwise I wouldn't have committed myself to the club for three and a half years," he admitted candidly.

"There's plenty to be positive about - the new stadium, a driven chairman with lots of ambition, a manager that wants to go places with the club and a good set of lads with a good balance between young boys and older lads as well.

"I can't see anything but a good future for Colchester."

By all accounts he is a very good signing so we'll see if he is right!
