Colchester 2- 2 Sheffield United

Colchester United had to settle for a draw today at home to Sheffield United.

An improved performance at Layer Road saw Kevin Lisbie and Johnnie Jackson grab a goal each after The Blades had gone ahead on the stroke of half time, with a goal from Jamaica striker Luton Shelton.

Colchester came out for the second half with purpose and Kevin Lisbie soon levelled the scores with a good efrfort.

Jackson sent the home crowd wild with a free kick that deflected off of Jon Stead and into the visitors net putting Colchester 2-1 up and looking to extend their lead.

However Colchester's defence had a moment of complete lack of concentrating allowing David Carney time and space in the area in the 66th minute to secure a point for Brian Robson's side.

Geriant Williams later said 'We've been punished for a mistake again, but we showed a lot of belief and I was delighted to see the lads so positive.'

Was a good result prehaphs we could could of nicked it but it wasn't too be. Sheffield United are the worst footballing team i've seens this season, every time their goalkeeper or defence get it the just hoof it long to no one in particular.
