Elokobi: Leaving Was A Sad Day
Colchester United`s former Cameroonian full-back George Elokobi has told of how sad he is to have left the club for Wolves.
The 22-year-old full back made 41 appearances in four years with the Essex outfit, bursting into the first-team for the beginning part of this season.
He has however been warned by new manager Mick McCarty now to expect an automatic pace in the starting XI, due to the impressive form of current left-back Michael Grey.
"There are mixed emotions, definitely," Elokobi told the Us' official website this week when asked how he felt about the move, but he has also pledged to show the work-ethic which saw him become a terraced hero in Essex.
He has this week vowed to "defend for his life," for his new team, also explaining that completion of the protracted deal made him feel as if he has "won the lottery."
"I've got a huge family at Colchester United. I loved my time at Layer Road, I was happy there and leaving the club which gave me my chance from non-League football was a bit of a sad day too," added Elokobi on the official U`s webspace this week.
