Scunthorpe United 1-1 The U's
Colchester continued improvement under the new boss remains, but we had to be content with a point at Scunthorpe United on Saturday afternoon when we battled back from behind.
Mark Robins' first game in charge of Scunthorpe looked, for a brief while, as it would start with a win as they took a lead at Glanford Park but we showed we're no longer a soft touch to earn a 1-1 draw.
Scunthorpe started well, making the breakthrough when the experienced Rory Fallon (20) headed home a third-goal in five-games for his new club, finishing well from a Gary McSheffrey freekick
Paddy Madden had a great chance to double the lead soon over but he wasn't able to hit the target, and we soon made the home side pay.
Freddie Sears (33), previously denied by the underside of the bar, turned on the edge of the area to fire home an equaliser for his seventh-goal of the season.
The game basically fizzled out in the second half but we had the chances to have won it not once, but twice late one....
George Moncur wasn't able to hit the target with Cardiff City loanee Rhys Healey coming off the bench to strike the foot of the post as the game ended one-one.
