Fan Q & A: U's -vs- Leeds

Fan Q & A: U's -vs- Leeds

The perhaps over-confident John Charles of Vital Leeds answered this week`s pre-match Q & A.... I`d thank him, but I`m not sure his answers merit that!

Q: Second faces third. Unbeaten, but you`ve got to lose sometime, right?

Maybe, but not to you...!

Q: You were the first club to help fill the year-old ground last season but our fans during the home game say you were treated better than they in their own ground. What do you make of any "double standards" comments?

Give them all their Soothers back...

Q: Jermaine Beckford has been in fine form again this season. But wasn`t he supposed to be leaving?

Why should he leave the best club in the land? He knew that would have been making a mistake...

Q: What is the average response of any fan when a Colchester supporter just to happens to mention that 1971 F.A. Cup win by their then Four Division side?

Just smile and say: 'Wow you are a lucky lot`...and then laugh out loud!

Q: Simon Grayson. A former player turned manager. But is he the right choice to get you promoted?

We just keep going until we get the right manager and Simon is our man now and will get us promoted.

Q: Just where did it all go wrong under Gary McAlister?

Gary is a good manager but we weren't ready for fancy football.

Q: Describe your team in three words.

Super Leeds United!

Q: Which Colchester player would you most like to take off our hands, if possible, on a free?

None, as we have all the best players!

Q: Who should we look out for at the weekend?

The 11 players on the pitch and the seven subs on the bench!

Q: Not the U`sual - predict a score...?

2-1 to Leeds... S.L.U.F.C.

I think this guy is being a bit tongue in cheek with his replys. As a Leeds supporter we know this is our toughest test so far and the team will be treating Colchester with respect. From the team that played you April of last season probably only 4 will start the game. Very much Graysons team now. We have had 5 years of disappointments so will take nothing for granted (end of september last year we were riding high and Mcallister was manager of the month. By end of November he was ready for the chop) and take every game as it comes even though we are a miles better team than last year. Congratulations on your 7-1 demolition of Norwich, good luck for the season but i am looking for a narrow Leeds win tomorrow

Cheersm erni! The same for us - I would say it's Paul L******'s term, but it isn't! We have a few new faces too; should be a great match!

*it isn't his anymore! (dare I say the team currently belongs to the fans?!) You can't resent playing a team like us if you guys as a club want to go up... should be an ace game!

Thanks erni! Yeah - quite a different team for us from when we played you last time too. Lets hope for a good game and good atmosphere. Up the U's!

I agree alot with erni and I'm not quite as confident as iwa seems to be! here are a few more responses to those questions... http://www.leeds.vitalfootball.co.uk/forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=8214&posts=4&mid=145564#M145564 Im slightly worried about the game tomorrow because, although you have had a pretty good start to the season, I think we are capable of getting all three points...Should be a nerve wrecking game anyway! If anyone of you can't make the game and wanted to listen to it live, while putting up with quite biased commentary from Eddie Gray, then come onto Vital Leeds on Saturday afternoon and someone will give you a link to a website where you can listen to it live. Thats if Colchester United don't already have a similiar service... Good luck tomorrow and i hope its a good game where we come out on top...Although I'm not too confident of all 3 points

Very handy, Gromjo. Don't think we do have a service like that - I'll send any stray U's fans not going to the game (although, if not, why not?!) your way. Thanks for the views about Leeds - so it seems a missive team will get better treatment, all round - I'm really looking foward to the game!

Its definitley our hardest test of the season so far. Depends how you guys react to the loss of Paul Lambert having lost your only game since he left.

Well, annoyingly Dazza, a load of people seem to forgot that we played Gillingham at home on the day he left, with the best atmosphere I've ever experienced at the WHCS, and won. We can take victory without Lambert, sure. Can we beat Leeds? We'll have to see!

Yep - I think the squad are over Lambert's exit now. They shoudl be all fired up for the game. Up the U's!
